What customs lets you bring in depends on your residence status. The rules for household goods and a car, for permanent and temporary residents, and when your shipment must arrive.

What you can bring into Argentina without paying duty depends on your residence status. Permanent residents can bring household goods and personal effects in duty-free, while temporary residents bring them in as a temporary import backed by a guarantee.
These rules come from ARCA, the tax and customs authority.
Your goods must arrive no earlier than 3 months before you enter Argentina. They must arrive no later than 6 months after you enter, or after your residence is granted if that is later.
If you become a permanent resident long after you first arrive, ask how the window applies to you. Our source does not settle it.
A permanent resident may bring in a used car on these terms.
Our source does not say how long a temporary import of household goods can last, or how it ends.
A temporary resident may bring in a car as a temporary import for at most 480 days. There is no extension.
After that, the car cannot be used until you become a permanent resident and it can be nationalised. The other option is to take it out of the country.
Our source does not say whether the days count from the car's arrival or from yours.
Think this through before you ship a car on a temporary permit. Most routes lead to permanent residence only after a period of temporary residence, and the timing is never certain.
The two regimes are very different. Permanent residents bring household goods in duty-free. Temporary residents need a guarantee against the taxes.
So when you ship matters. Before you book a container, ask a customs broker which regime applies to you.
Animals follow separate health rules. Read Bringing a pet. For licences, read Driving licences.
Your residence route decides which of these rules apply to you and when. If you are still choosing how to move, the Route Finder shows the routes you may fit.
