An 1863 list names Irish estancieros there: Culligan, Fox, Gaynor, Harrington, Lennon, Scally and Tormey, the Irish Argentine Historical Society recorded in 2004. James Gaynor of Co. Westmeath was a councillor at Capilla del Señor in 1856 and left 90,000 hectares to some 150 family members when he died in 1892. The estancia Los Tres Pozos was founded by John and James Fox and later bought by John Murray of Co. Longford. Eduardo Tormey, mayor for over twenty years, was the first elected by popular vote, in August 1887. Michael Mahon is listed as vice-president of the Home Rule League in 1876.
The church was rebuilt in 1866 with strong Irish participation, and two Irish chaplains are buried in its atrium; a 2018 provincial bill names Fathers P. O'Grady, E. Weber and G. Grennan as lying in the entrance hall. The 1838 cemetery holds Gaynor, Mahon and Murray vaults, and there is a street sign for Fr Fahy. The partido also has a town named Diego Gaynor and the Lennon stream.
The writer Rodolfo Walsh first attended the Irish school in Capilla del Señor, according to Edmundo Murray, before boarding at the Instituto Fahy in Moreno. The historians Korol and Sabato drew Exaltación de la Cruz in their sample of the most Irish partidos.
