What one person spends in Córdoba compared with Buenos Aires, what a flat costs, how hot the summers get, and what the crime and hospital figures say.

A planning estimate for one person in Córdoba is USD 1,125 a month at the lower end and USD 1,300 at the higher end, which is less than in Buenos Aires. Summers are very hot, winters are dry, and Córdoba is not among the places reported as billing foreigners in public hospitals.
The estimates above were published in September 2026. They include rent but not health cover. The same source puts Buenos Aires at USD 1,450 outside the centre and USD 1,650 in it.

Two sources give rents for a one-bedroom flat in Córdoba:
The two measure different things, months apart, so they do not match. Use them as a range to check real listings against.
The national rules on leases apply here as everywhere. Since the rental law was repealed at the end of 2023, landlord and tenant agree the term, the currency and how the rent rises. The most common formula in new leases: Quarterly CPI (IPC); four-monthly and six-monthly also exist.
We found no source on how Córdoba agencies handle guarantees. Renting as a foreigner explains the options a newcomer has.
In brief: Very hot summers, dry winters.

Córdoba province had the second-highest robbery rate in the country in 2025, at 1,314.3 per 100,000 people. Only Buenos Aires City was higher, at 1,877.6 per 100,000 people. The national rate was 861.6 per 100,000 people.
These are figures for the whole province, not the city. The research has no crime figures for the city or its neighbourhoods.
An August 2026 report names the places that already bill foreigners who are not residents: Salta, Mendoza, Santa Cruz and Jujuy since 2024; Buenos Aires City since March 2025; all with emergency exceptions. Córdoba is not on that list.
That does not make every public hospital free. Under a 2026 rule, at 5 hospitals run by the national government, every foreigner without permanent residence must show insurance or pay in advance for scheduled care. Only permanent residents use the public system on the same terms as Argentines.
The list of places that bill has grown since 2024. Check the current position before you rely on a public hospital. Public hospitals now bill non-residents explains what cover you need.
