La Nación reported the 2025 parade on Sunday 16 March at 16:00, organised by the Asociación Argentino Irlandesa Almirante Brown. It began with a wreath at the Malvinas memorial and ended at the San Martín monument, and the Copa Gran Capitán San Patricio was presented to the director of The Southern Cross. In 2026 the parade was held on Sunday 15 March at 16:00 with pipe bands, the Argentine Navy band and community associations. In 2024 it went ahead on Sunday 17 March. The parade has therefore fallen on the Sunday nearest 17 March in each of the last three years, though the date should be checked each February.
The square has been the parade's destination for a decade. In March 2016 the parade left Arroyo and Suipacha at 15:00 for Plaza San Martín, with more than 10,000 people expected and a play about the 1916 Rising to close. That year Reconquista street nearby was the centre of the city's St Patrick's night, with about 15,000 people expected in its pubs. A separate city-run street festival, Buenos Aires Celebra Irlanda, ran on Avenida de Mayo from 2009 to 2023 and was suspended in 2024. The organising association's name is given differently by La Nación in 2025 and 2026.
