Its place in this story is recent. In 2007, the 150th anniversary of Admiral William Brown's death, a delegation from Mayo travelled to Argentina and Mayo was twinned with Adrogué, the Connaught Telegraph reported in 2026. The same year the Irish naval flagship LÉ Eithne sailed to Argentina at Argentina's invitation, according to the Western People. Organisers in Foxford, Brown's birthplace, hope to send another delegation for the 250th anniversary of his birth in 2027.
One claim in the project's brief could not be confirmed: no source read places a house of Brown's in Adrogué. The replica of his house, the Casa Amarilla, stands in La Boca, and the brief may have confused it with the name of the partido.
