Colegio Santa Brígida
Status
Status: Probably activeInstituto Santa Brígida stands at Gaona 2058 in Caballito, beside Plaza Irlanda. It was founded in 1899 by the Asociación Católica Irlandesa, which continued Father Fahy's work from 1883. Its Tudor-style building was designed by Herbert Arthur Inglis and its chapel opened in 1913. Today it is a coeducational, Catholic, bilingual school affiliated to the International Baccalaureate since 1991, and the city declared it a Site of Cultural Interest in 2000. In March 2024 it hosted a St Patrick's Mass and celebration attended by a visiting Irish minister. Westmeath press names it, with Cardenal Newman, as an Irish-founded school still operating.
