The Federation is the umbrella body that coordinates Irish-Argentine societies across the country. In 2012 President Higgins, speaking at the Fahy Club in Buenos Aires, described it as based at that club, named José Brendan Wallace as its president and mentioned a 41st Encuentro Nacional Argentino Irlandés planned for Venado Tuerto. A business registry lists it as an active federation with a legal address on Riobamba street and a constitution date of 31 August 1961, though that registry page was seen only as a search summary.
The community's annual gathering, the Encuentro, continues: Ireland's Embassy and an Irish association in Rosario co-led the 2023 edition under the Emigrant Support Programme, and the 2024 programme funded an Embassy project called "Annual meeting of Irish associations". The Federation itself does not appear in the 2024 or 2025 payment lists, so its current status is probable rather than proved. No member list, current officers or recent Encuentro host towns were found.
