The school had earlier been opened by Irish Sisters of Mercy, the local Irish community funded repairs, and the Pallottines bought the premises in 1890. Its 130th anniversary was celebrated on 8 October 2017. A "Colegio San Patricio" received Emigrant Support Programme payments from Ireland of 5,000 euro in 2024 and 5,147 euro in 2025; the lists do not say which town the school is in, and the research infers Mercedes because it is the Irish-founded school of that name found. The school domain redirects to a parent-login page with no public content, so no website is given.
